The Wine Box Nebbiolo consists of six carefully selected labels, allowing you to appreciate one of the most elegant and refined Italian reds. A noble grape variety, which for centuries has found its ideal area among the hills of Langhe to express itself at exceptional quality levels, Nebbiolo has proven to produce great wines in other areas of Piemonte, in Valle d'Aosta and in Valtellina, where it is known by the name Chiavennasca. The Wine Box offers a journey into the fascinating world of Nebbiolo, discovering its nuances and different expressions that it can give, depending on the cultivation area.

Nebbiolo is one of the most important native grape varieties of our ampelographic heritage, the basis of two wines like Barolo and Barbaresco, appreciated all over the world. Its origins remain mysterious, just like its name, which is uncertain whether it derives from the presence of an abundant layer of bloom that turns the grapes gray, or because it is harvested in autumn, when the fog envelops the vineyards. It is a very demanding and not very flexible from a pedoclimatic point of view. Always present in the lands of Langhe, it has adapted well in the area of Alto Piemonte in Ghemme, Gattinara, Boca, and the Valli Ossolane, in Valle d'Aosta and in Valtellina. In the rest of Italy, as well as in other regions of the world, it does not express wines comparable to those of its homeland. Structured and powerful, it has dense tannins, lively freshness, and elegant floral aromas and small red berry fruits. Do not hesitate to leave a few bottles in the cellar; its wines are very long-lived.
