The Rosso Conero ‘Il Cacciatore di Sogni’ by La Calcinara carries an almost literary name, chosen to tell a personal interpretation of the Conero. It comes from the twenty-year-old vineyards of Contrada Calcinara, where the Montepulciano matures on a soil of sandstone, clay, and gypsum two hundred meters above sea level. The aging takes place for eighteen months between cement, steel, and oak, to create a broad and complex profile. On the nose, it recalls forest fruits, light spices, and especially Mediterranean scrub. On the palate, it is delicious, with young and agile tannins and great sapidity. It seems designed to accompany vincisgrassi.
