Callmewine's Favourites
From our sommeliers

The Nebbiolo by Giovanni Rosso is an intense and balanced red wine from the Langhe, characterized by structure and aromatic concentration, aged for a few months in large barrels. It has aromas of violets, flowers and red fruit, humus and cherries. On the palate, it is rich, varied, fruity and flavorful, with elegant and smooth tannins on the finish.

Giovanni Rosso's Nebbiolo is a wine that expresses the most authentic and sincere face of the great Piedmontese grape variety. Thanks to a delicate vinification and a short aging in wood, the nebbiolo retains all its elegant varietal notes, bringing to the forefront its floral and delicately fruity character. A red of great charm, born in the area of Serralunga d’Alba, one of the most vocated in the wonderful territory of the Langhe.

The red Nebbiolo from the Serralunga d’Alba winery is the child of a great terroir. The estate covers a total area of about 10 hectares, divided into many parcels, which include prestigious crus: Ceretta, Serra, Vigna Rionda, Broglio. Meriame, Sorano, Costa Bella, Liriano Damiano, La Valle del Mondo. The vineyards destined for the production of Nebbiolo are located in the area of Roddino and Serralunga d’Alba and are planted with Guyot. The harvest usually takes place around mid-October and the grapes are sent for fermentation, using only indigenous yeasts, in tanks of concrete with skin maceration lasting about two weeks. It rests for several months in large oak barrels before bottling and being put on the market.

The Giovanni Rosso Nebbiolo is a wine with a great gastronomic vocation, extremely versatile in food pairings. Thanks to its delicate fragrance and good persistence, it is perfect to taste with the flavorful first courses of traditional Piedmontese cuisine. It presents itself with a ruby red color with slight garnet reflections. On the nose, it opens with floral notes of violet, aromas of small berries, cherry, with light toasted and spicy notes. On the palate, it has a medium structure, with a fine tannic texture, a still crunchy fruit and a finish of lively freshness.
