It is a red wine from the prestigious Tuscan area of Bolgheri, made from a blend of French grape varieties, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Syrah, which reach very high levels of quality in these lands. The name comes from a forest that in the 1700s was completely burned by the local inhabitants as a sign of protest against the noble Della Gherardesca family, who at the time were the lords of Bolgheri, forbidding farmers from hunting within it.
This Bolgheri Il Bruciato is produced every year within the Guado al Tasso estate of the Antinori family, located about 80 km southwest of Florence, on the gentle green hills that surround the ancient village, in a territory with a unique microclimate that alternates good thermal excursions from night to day, allowing the grapes to reach perfect ripeness.
