The Barolo "Margheria" by Massolino is a very full-bodied, intense, and structured wine, with a long aging potential. It comes from the homonymous cru of Serralunga and matures for 30 months in barrel. Spices, ripe fruit, underbrush, and licorice blend into an aromatic weave of great richness and personality.

The Barolo Margheria from the renowned Langhe estate Massolino represents a traditional and typically robust expression of the Serralunga d’Alba territory, home of the winery. In particular, the Geographical Indication of Margheria is located just west of the village of Serralunga d’Alba, not far from the cru Vigna Rionda, a historic MGA that has become a symbol for Massolino. The vineyard property in Margheria, which extends over one and a half hectares, was purchased by the Massolino family in the 1970s, establishing itself over the years among the most prestigious crus vinified by the winery.

The Barolo Massolino Margheria is produced exclusively from Nebbiolo grapes grown in the namesake cru, characterized by vines with an average age of 40 years. The vineyard benefits from an altitude of 280 meters above sea level, the calcareous and partly sandy matrix of the soil, and the excellent southwest exposure. In the winery, the vinification follows a rigorous traditional approach, based on alcoholic fermentation and long maceration on the skins in oak vats at a temperature of around 30 °C. Once the fermentation process is completed, the ages for about 30 months in large Slavonian oak barrels, followed by an additional resting period of at least one year in the bottle before its final release on the market.

In the glass, the Barolo Margheria from Massolino displays a beautiful intense garnet red color. The broad olfactory panorama is described by vivid aromas of cherry, licorice, underbrush, and berries that blend with deep spicy nuances and delicate floral notes of rose on the finish. The intensity, body, and imposing structure on the palate are well supported by vibrant freshness and elegant tannic texture, components that come together in a progression of very long persistence.
